Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of characters who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear mismatched, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their position as key figures in the powerful family could enable the team reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Seekers and Planners groups.
